TBC utilizes the “Critical Path Method” for Scheduling.

Most of our clients know that in construction, “time is money” and that time can be an asset or a liability.  All construction projects depend upon the accurate planning and scheduling of individual tasks within the project specifications and drawings.  Trying to expedite the completion of a project without the proper time and materials allocated to complete an individual task which is codependent upon other individual tasks within the project will always lead to a short cutting processes and/or cohesion between subcontractors.  These two influences then tend to gather momentum and ultimately lead to delays, higher cost to complete, and lower quality construction.  Most assuredly, proper planning and scheduling will alleviate major problems between the basics of manpower and materials required throughout the project duration.

TBC Commercial utilizes the “Critical Path Method” of project scheduling/planning using Microsoft Project Software:
The essential technique for using CPM is to construct a model/schedule of the project that includes the following:

  1. A list of all activities/tasks required to complete the project (typically categorized within a breakdown structure of all of the major requirements.
  2. The time (duration) that each activity will take to complete, and
  3. The interdependency between the activities.

Using these values, Microsoft Project allows TBC to calculate the longest path of planned activities to the end of the project, and the earliest and latest that each activity can start and finish without making the project longer or adding additional cost/hours to the working day to meet the schedule.  
CPM with Microsoft Project also allows for the early identification of long lead items (materials) that can then be ordered early in the project schedule; identified, ordered and delivered promptly at the time needed for the other interdependent tasks which require their installation/construction in order to complete their own requirements.
This method allows TBC to schedule, manage and allocate the necessary resources to complete the project on time and within the budget.
